Pacheco named to SEC Good Works team

FAYETTEVILLE– Lone senior Iliana Pacheco was named to the 2005 SEC Good Works by the conference office in Birmingham, Ala., on Tuesday afternoon. Pacheco marks the third senior in a row to be named to the Good Works team. “Being named to SEC Good Works indefinitely an honor,” said senior Pacheco. “It marks one of the many highlights of my senior year.” Pacheco was named to the team for her accomplishments off the court in addition to her senior leadership. Pacheco has spent several summers volunteering as a tennis coach for local children. In 2003, she participated in a program that collected and distributed Christmas gifts for underprivileged children in Northwest Arkansas. “It has been a real honor to have liana on this team,” said head coach Michael Hegarty. “Her enthusiasm and willingness to help those in need is unsurpassed.” Pacheco also organized a community service project to collect clothing to be sent to children in Central and South America. On last year’s Student Day of Caring, she landscaped local housing projects and regularly volunteers at a daycare. Pacheco and the Lady Razorbacks are set to take the courts Thursday against South Carolina in opening round action of the SEC Tournament in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
