Tutoring

Tutoring

We Are Now Internationally Certified

The Office of Student-Athlete Success provides tutoring services to all student-athletes. Tutoring is provided to supplement classroom instruction to ensure the success of our student-athletes. Tutoring is not to be a replacement for attending class, but rather, a reinforcement of material. All tutoring for athletics takes place in the Bogle Academic Center, where tutors meet with students one-on-one, in small groups, or for test reviews. Our tutoring staff includes undergraduate students, graduate students, instructors, community professionals, and teachers from the community.

Tutors’ work hours are flexible, but they are based on student-need, which varies from semester to semester. Tutors are paid $13 per hour for those working on their undergraduate degree and $15 per hour for those who have completed an undergraduate degree. Tutors are evaluated at the end of each semester to determine continued employment.

You should apply if you…

– Have earned at least 30 credits hours
– Have at least a 3.00 GPA
– Earned a B (A preferred) in the classes they wish to tutor
– Are available at least two evenings each week to tutor (Sunday through Thursday)
– Can provide 2 letters of recommendation, one of which must be a University faculty/staff reference who can speak to their knowledge and capacity to tutor
