FAYETTEVILLE – On the final day of competition at the Stanford Invitational, Martine Borge and Samantha Learch posted a pair of top-20 finishes at 800 meters for the No. 6 University of Arkansas women’s track and field team. The Stanford Invitational was held at the Cobb Track & Angell Field in Palo Alto, Calif.
In the Razorbacks’ only competition of the day, Borge posted a personal-best performance in the 800 meters. Running in heat one, she finished in seventh place and 13th overall with a time of 2:07.76. The previous best for Borge was 2:08.00 run last season at Drake Relays. Learch finished ninth in heat one and in 16th place overall at 800 meters with a time of 2:08.77, the second-fastest effort of her career.
Late Friday night, Dominique Scott finished in sixth place in section two of the 10,000 meters. In her debut at that distance, she finished race with a time of 33:54.95. She was originally entered to compete at 5,000 meters Friday evening.
