FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas junior Regina Plasencia and sophomore Samantha Marks test their skills against Monday in a qualifier for the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G at Pinnacle Country Club.
The 18-hole format will determine two qualifiers for the tournament which begins on Friday. Plasencia is slated for a 1:11 tee time with Marks following at 1:22.
Plasencia and Marks are two of just 18 women in Monday’s event and they are the only amateurs in the field. Plasencia tees off with Megan Vaughn of Bryant, Ark., and Kate Machado of Scottsdale, Ariz. Marks will play with Ana Menendez of Raleigh, N.C. and Molly Franks of Sherman, Texas.

The world’s best female golfers will return to the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G this week. Top LPGA professionals Stacy Lewis (2014 Tournament Champion), Inbee Park (2013 Tournament Champion) and Lydia Ko currently battling at the top of the Rolex Women’s Golf Rankings are confirmed to appear at Pinnacle Country Club this week for the tournament.
The field list also includes:
- 17 of the Top 20 players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings
- 39 major wins of the combined field
- 245 total wins of the combined field
- The entire 2013 USA Solheim Cup Team
- 10 of the current Top 10 USA Solheim Cup Points Earners
Other notable players scheduled to vie for the $2 million purse include Paula Creamer, Michelle Wie, Cristie Kerr, Morgan Pressel, Lexi Thompson, Jessica Korda, Yani Tseng (2010 & 2011 Tournament Champion), Ai Miyazato (2012 Tournament Champion), and University of Arkansas golfer Gabriela Lopez. Lopez will join the field as a sponsor’s exemption.

$15 – Daily Championship Tickets valid for any one day Friday – Sunday
$25 – Weekly Grounds Tickets valid for Tuesday-Sunday

*Kids 17 and under admitted free all week with a ticketed adult*
*Military personnel and veterans admitted free all week with valid military ID*
