FAYETTEVILLE – Colin Poche, a left-handed pitcher from Flower Mound, Texas, has been added to the Arkansas baseball signing class, as announced onThursday by Razorback head coach Dave Van Horn.
Poche becomes the 11th signee for Arkansas in the early signing period. Other signees for the Razorbacks include catcher/infielder Blake Baxendale of Rogers, Ark., right-handed pitcher Ty Buttrey of Matthews, N.C., right-handed pitcher Jarred Greene of Magnolia, Texas, right-handed pitcher/infielder Isaac Hellbusch of Edmond, Okla., right-handed pitcher Trey Killian of Mountain Home, Ark., outfielder Shilo McCall of Farmington, N.M., outfielder D’Vone McClure of Jacksonville, Ark., infielder/outfielder Garrett Rucker of Arkadelphia, Ark., third baseman/right-handed pitcher Willie Schwanke of Frisco, Texas, and right-handed pitcher Teddy Stankiewicz of Keller, Texas.
Poche currently attends Marcus High School. He played in the WWBA World Championships earlier this fall in Jupiter, Fla., and threw three shutout innings with six strikeouts. Poche also helped the D-BAT Mustangs to the 2011 Connie Mack World Series in Farmington, N.M.
"Colin is an athletic left hander that can throw strikes," Van Horn said. "He’s also an outstanding student. We feel he has a chance to come in and contribute right away, especially as a left-handed pitcher."
