Post-Game Quotes

Arkansas Head Coach Stan Heath:

I saw a lot of positives in the game tonight. Our defense was good. We forced a lot of turnovers and created pressure. We were able to disrupt their offense. In the second half, we made some adjustments and did a little better. In the exhibition season we wanted to get everybody out there and create a rhythm.”

“We stressed getting the ball inside. We had some good looks but missed some easy lay-ups. We had good energy tonight. We will watch film and make the corrections needed.”

Arkansas Center Steven Hill:

“We’re pleased with our effort tonight. We accomplished a lot on both ends of the floor. We need to focus on playing a whole 40 minutes because we had some lulls in offense at times.”

Arkansas Point Guard Gary Ervin:

“I think we played above average tonight. It’s a learning process right now because this is the first time we’ve played as a whole with our crowd. We have lots to work on especially offense. We have to learn to be patient and wait for the best shot instead of taking quick shots.

Xavier-New Orleans Head Coach Dannton Jackson:

“Both teams played hard. I was impressed with Arkansas. They caused us a lot of problems tonight. Arkansas forced a lot of turnovers and that was the difference in the game. They did a good job on the boards.”
