FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The sixth-ranked Arkansas women’s cross country team will continue its postseason push Friday morning in College Station, Texas at the NCAA South Central Region Championships.
“This is the gatekeeper for the national meet,” head coach Lance Harter said. “I think that there are very very fine individuals in our division that some of our athletes would like to race against”
Teams competing at the Regional Championships include: No. 6 Arkansas, Abilene Christian, Arkansas State, Little Rock, Baylor, Central Arkansas, Houston, Incarnate Word, Lamar, LSU, McNeese State, Nicholls State, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston, SMU, Stephen F. Austin, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-CC, TCU, Texas State, Tulane, Louisiana, ULM, UT-Arlington, UT-Rio Grande Valley, UTSA.
Arkansas returns five All-region performers in Devin Clark, Sydney Brown, Abby Gray, Carina Viljoen, and Taylor Werner. The Razorbacks have won the team title for six-consecutive years, having placed the top overall performer at the meet for three-straight years, including Clark in 2016.
