#ProHogs Looking For Super Bowl LII Title

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – When the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles take the field Sunday in Minneapolis for Super Bowl LII, the Arkansas Razorbacks will be well represented on football’s largest stage.

Two players to watch are Patriots defensive linemen Trey Flowers and Deatrich Wise Jr. The duo has been a disruptive force and scary combo for opposing offenses this season, combining for 53 total quarterback hits.

Flowers leads the team with 7.5 sacks this season, while Wise has 7.0, including 2.0 in the playoffs. In the regular season, Flowers finished tied for seventh in total tackles by an NFL defensive lineman with 62 and leads the league in tackles in the postseason with 12 among linemen.

Flowers is no stranger to the big stage. The Huntsville, Alabama, native was big for the Patriots a year ago in Super Bowl LI. Flowers had six stops and 2.5 sacks, including the one that gave the Patriots back the ball to tie the game late in the fourth quarter.

If the Patriots win Sunday, Arkansas will have the longest active streak of former players on a Super Bowl winning roster (practice squad included) with eight straight. Tennessee currently leads with nine, but it does not have a player on Philadelphia. Whether New England or Philadelphia wins, Arkansas’ streak will be extended to nine, as former Razorback tight end and offensive lineman Jason Peters is on the Eagles’ injured reserve list.

Another #ProHog looking for a ring is former Razorback wide receiver Cody Hollister. Hollister is on the Patriots practice squad, while his twin brother, Jacob, is also a receiver for the Pats.
