San Diego Chargers

#ProHogs Week 7 Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – With the NFL season nearing its midway point, many teams are beginning to separate themselves from the pack and become serious contenders for the postseason. Of those teams, many are looking towards former Razorbacks to help reach that goal.

Last week, three former Hogs scored touchdowns as tight end Hunter Henry, running back Alex Collins and wide receiver Cobi Hamilton each found the end zone for their respective teams. For Collins and Hamilton, it marked their first career touchdowns.

Henry has turned into a go-to player for the San Diego Chargers this year, starting five of six games this year and should make another start Sunday against Atlanta. Henry has become quarterback Philip Rivers’ favorite target since Antonio Gates went down with an injury early in the season.

Gates has returned to the field in recent weeks, but that hasn’t stopped Henry’s production. Just last week against Denver, Henry led all receivers in the game, catching six of his eight targets and averaging just under 14.0 yards per catch. He has caught a touchdown pass in each of the last three games, which is the longest streak by a rookie since 2014.

Earlier this week, Henry talked with the San Diego media about the trust he has built this season with Rivers and his overall growth with the team.

Collins Crucial For Seahawks In Week 6
For Alex Collins, his snap count with the Seahawks hasn’t been quite as high as Henry’s, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t come through when his number has been called. Collins broke through for his first career TD last week against Atlanta, a score that was crucial in the 26-24 victory.

So far this year, Collins has eight carries for 15 yards and a touchdown along with three catches for 28 yards, as he is one of only 10 rookie running backs in the NFL with at least one score.

His fourth quarter third-down reception last week couldn’t have come at a better time as it kept Seattle’s eventual game-winning drive alive before setting up the game-winning field goal.

“It’s amazing just to be in here with these same guys in the locker room,” Collins said to Seahawks.com. These guys are great, awesome guys. Just talent all around the room and just to be a part of it makes me feel special.”

Collins and the Seahawks take on Arizona in primetime Sunday as part of NBC’s coverage of Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.

Thankful ! Great team win today ! #1stTD #gohawks

Davis Part Of Big Trade Sending Him To Green Bay
After six weeks with the Kansas City Chiefs, former Razorback running back Knile Davis was traded to Green Bay earlier this week to help shore up the Packers’ running back issues.

With Eddie Lacy and James Starks both ruled out for injuries this week, Davis is expected to step right in as a Week 7 starter Thursday night against Chicago.

Davis, who was in his fourth season with the Chiefs, the same team that drafted him in 2013, had been seeing spot production over just four games this year, mostly on special teams as the primary kick returner. In his career, Davis has rushed for 775 yards and 11 touchdowns and hopes to take advantage of the opportunity with his new team.
