FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Delvon Johnson, Jemal Farmer, Jeff Peterson and Michael Sanchez of the University of Arkansas men’s basketball team were just a few of the many Razorback student-athletes who participated in graduation ceremonies on Saturday.
Johnson and Farmer, who each exhausted their eligibility when the 2010-11 season came to a close went through graduation ceremonies with the Fulbright College while Peterson and Sanchez, both seniors to be on the court, earned their degrees from the Walton College of Business. The degrees for Johnson and Farmer make them the first members of their immediate families to earn a college diploma.
The Razorbacks have put a premium over the past several years in getting the job done both on the court and in the classroom and Saturday’s ceremonies are a reflection of that emphasis. The four graduating players are the most in one academic year since 1999-00 when Carl Baker, Alonzo Lane, Larry Satchell, Charles Tatum and Blake Eddins each earned degrees from the University.
