Honors Keep Coming

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Five Arkansas football players were named to the Associated Press (AP) All-SEC football team Monday.

Junior tight end Hunter Henry and senior offensive lineman Sebastian Tretola were first team selections, marking the ninth time in program history that a pair of Razorbacks have landed on the AP first team.

The 2015 John Mackey Award winner, Henry led all SEC tight ends with 46 receptions, and his 647 receiving yards, 32 first down catches and 19 plays of 15-plus yards were tops nationally among tight ends.

A co-recipient of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, Tretola started all 12 games at left guard this season and has made 23 consecutive starts at the position. He graded out at more than 80 percent in 10 of 12 contests this season and led the team with an 84 percent overall grade. The San Bernardino, Calif. Native has allowed just one half-sack in his career, helping the Razorbacks lead the SEC in fewest sacks allowed each of his two seasons.

Earning second team honors were junior wide receiver Drew Morgan, junior running back Alex Collins and junior offensive lineman Dan Skipper.

Though he began the year as a backup wide receiver, Morgan became one of the SEC’s best at the position by the end of the season. He led the conference in touchdown receptions (10) and touchdown receptions in league games (8) while also tallying three 100-yard receiving games against conference opponents. His three touchdown catches in the Razorbacks’ 53-52 win in overtime at Ole Miss are tied for the most in a conference contest this season.

When Collins topped the 1,000-yard plateau against Ole Miss, he became just the third player in SEC history to begin his career with three straight 1,000 yard seasons. The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native joined former Razorback Darren McFadden and Georgia great Herschel Walker on the esteemed list. Collins’ nine 100-yard rushing games are tied with Alabama Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry and LSU’s Leonard Fournette for the SEC lead and just one off of McFadden’s program record of 10 set in 2007. Collins’ 1,392 rushing yards are the third-most in Arkansas single-season history while his 17 touchdowns are tied for second and just two off the record of 19 set in 1969. Out of Collins’ nine 100-yard rushing games, six came in league play.

Along with Tretola, Skipper helped the Razorback offensive line pave the way for a league-best six 200-yard rushing games in SEC action. He started all 12 games at right tackle this season, extending his consecutive starts streak to 33 over his three seasons. He graded out over 80 percent in a team-high 11 games and earned SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors on Nov. 16 following the Razorbacks’ win at then-No. 9 LSU.
