Quinton joins women’s golf team for 2012

FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas head women’s golf coach Shauna Estes-Taylor continued on the signing trail adding Kayli Quinton to the 2012 roster this week. Quinton joins Gabriela Lopez as part of the signing class for the Razorbacks. Quinton checks in from Houston, Texas, where she was home-schooled under the direction of the University of Texas High School. She is a three-time Greater Houston City Junior Championship winner, and an AJGA Rolex Junior All-American Honorable Mention selection. Quinton won the Genesis Shootout in July shooting a one-under 71 in the final round at Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club. In addition, she was a 2011 U.S. Women’s Amateur Sectional winner shooting a 70 at Barton Creek Resort in Austin, Texas. She is ranked 13th in the Golfweek class of 2012 rankings. “Kayli is a young lady that we have been watching develop for many years,” Estes-Taylor said. “She has one of the greatest work ethics and passion for the game that I have ever seen. She works extremely hard and that work is starting to pay off. She has gained 30-40 yards in length and has really elevated her game over the past year. She works with Stacy Lewis’s former instructor and he has done an awesome job developing Kayli’s golf swing. She was just named an AJGA Junior All-American and I believe this is the first of many accolades that this young lady will gain in her career. Kayli is also a very strong student and looks forward to pursuing a degree in engineering. Kayli is a complete student-athlete and will add so much to our team on the golf course and in the classroom.”
