Rain delays start of P&G Beauty NW Arkansas Championship

ROGERS, Ark. – The start of the 2008 P&G Beauty NW Arkansas Championship has been delayed five hours due to inclement weather, tournament officials announced this morning. Former University of Arkansas women’s golfer Stacy Lewis was scheduled for a 7:15 a.m. tee time followed by a 2:11 p.m. start for Arkansas senior-to-be Lucy Nunn but more than an inch of rain fell in the area delaying the start. Tournament officials moved spectator parking to Rogers High School at 7:00 p.m. At 7:40 a.m. play was postponed with no anticipated start time. At 9:25 a.m., LPGA officials made an announcement for the five hour delay. Lewis is now scheduled for a 12:15 p.m. start. Nunn’s 2:11 p.m. time has been pushed to 7:11 p.m. but play will not start or continue after dark.
