Razorback Golf Finishes Second at Gary Koch In
BY ANDRES FOCIL
TAMPA, Fla. – The Arkansas (42) golf team turned in an outstanding performance at the Gary Koch Intercollegiate in Tampa, Fla., when they finished in a tie for second with Kentucky (55) and a score of 567 through the second round. The Razorbacks were only three strokes behind the winner, Florida (7) when the third round was cancelled due to heavy rains.
Arkansas’ second-place finish was their best showing since they came in second at the San Antonio Invitational on February 24-26, 2002.
“I was disappointed that we didn’t get to finish the tournament, but we can’t control mother nature,” Arkansas head coach Mike Ketcham said. “I was very happy we were near the leader (Florida) and I felt like we could have taken it, but the guys did great and I’m proud of how they played. We’ll definitely be able to build on this for the rest of the tournaments.”
