Razorback Golfers Move Into Second Place at NI

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arkansas men’s golf team scrambled up the leader board on Monday with a 10-under-par 278 to move into second place after two rounds of play at the National Invitational Tournament.
The Razorbacks two-round total of 560 (-16) is just one stroke behind tournament leader TCU (559). Texas and Arizona follow in third place just two strokes behind the Razorbacks at 562.
Matt Bortis finished the day in second place individually after firing a five-under-par 67 in the second round. He is eight-under-par (136) after two rounds and just one shot behind tournament leader J.J. Killeen (135) of TCU. Bortis shot a bogey-free round while carding five birdies.
Redshirt freshman Scotty Campbell made a 20-spot jump up the leader board on Monday with a three-under-par 69. He is currently tied for ninth place with a two-day total of 140 (-4). Campbell carded a team-high six birdies on Monday.
Freshman Barrett Lais followed up his first round 70 (-2) with a one-over-par 73 in the second round. The Joplin, Mo., native is -1 under par for the tournament and in a tie for 29th.
Junior Josh Farrell also fired a three-under-par 69 in the second round and is even par for the tournament.
Beau Glover played the back nine in two-under-par on Monday to salvage a +3 (75) in the second round. He is in tied for 53rd heading into Tuesday’s final round.
