TULSA, Okla.–Arkansas’ men’s tennis team travels to Tulsa this weekend to compete in the ITA Regional Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the University of Tulsa campus.
Senior Talley Parker and freshman Michael Jung begin play in the qualifying rounds on Thursday. Juniors Adrians Zguns, Rohan Gajjar and Matt Roberts, along with senior Imraan Ismail and sophomores Matt Simpson and Andrei Nicoara are slated for the main draw beginning Friday.
Roberts is off to a 10-1 start for the Hogs this year while Gajjar (4-2), Jung (4-2) and Nicoara (4-3) are second on the team in victories.
Zguns is seeded No. 2 in the main singles draw and Gajjar is No. 6. The doubles team of Simpson and Gajjar will play as the No. 5 seed, with Roberts and Ismail (3-1) at No. 7.
Players from Arkansas-Little Rock, Creighton, Drake, Illinois State, Missouri Kansas City, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, St. Louis, Southern Illinois, Southwest Missouri State, Tulsa and Wichita State are participating alongside the Razorbacks.
Qualifying matches are scheduled to begin around 9 a.m. Thursday morning and the finals are Monday.
