FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas’s tennis team won its only match last week, but the Razorbacks dropped one spot in this week’s Intercollegiate Tennis Association national rankings, falling from No. 23 to No. 24.
The Razorbacks beat Hawaii on March 12, 6-1, to improve to 10-2 and give head coach Robert Cox his 219th victory at UA. Cox is the all-time victories leader at Arkansas with a 219-184 record in 17 years. Overall, he is 327-209 in 19 years as a head coach. He moved past Tom Pucci on UA’s all-time list. Pucci won 218 matches from 1976-84.
With one more victory, the Hogs with match last year’s win total for the season, but Arkansas plays its next three matches on the road at No. 13 Vanderbilt, No. 18 Kentucky and No. 29 Mississippi State. UA’s next home match is March 28 at 1 p.m. against No. 2 Ole Miss.
Sophomore Adrians Zguns is still ranked No. 8 in the nation with a 26-5 singles record while senior Nathan Price is No. 54 with a 24-7 mark.
