Razorback Golf Sits Third After Opening Round in Oklahoma

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s golf team teed off at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate and finished Sunday’s first round in third place in the team standings. The Razorbacks shot a 21-over-par 305 on a windy day at the Oak Tree Golf Club in Edmond, Okla.

Leading the way for Arkansas after day one is junior Jason Turner who fired a one-over 72 and holds the third-place position on the individual leaderboard. Turner entered the day with a 73.5 scoring average.

Andrew Landry and David Lingmerth are part of a seven-player group tied for 16th place. The two Razorbacks posted identical six-over-par 77 days.

Rounding out the UA team are seniors Barrett Lais and Allen McFerran. Lais carded a 79 (+8) on the day, while McFerran had an opening-round eleven-over-par 82.

The team from Texas A&M tops the leaderboard after the first round. The Aggies lead the competition after their 12-over-par 296. Will Griffin from Texas Tech is the individual leader with a two-under 69, the only golfer with an under-par score Sunday.

Junior Will Osborne, playing as an individual, posted a nine-over-par 80 and is tied for 35th on the leaderboard.
