Razorback Netters Set for South Carolina Fall Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Five Razorback tennis players will compete in the University of South Carolina Fall Invitational beginning Friday and running throughout the weekend in Columbia, S.C.

Junior Andrei Nicoara and sophomores Michael Jung and Jimmy Khougassian join freshmen Blake Strode and Taylor King in the field in Columbia, a field including over 150 players from 30 schools.

"This is a very prestigious tournament,” Razorback Coach Robert Cox said, “I’m excited to continue the successful fall we’ve been having and this will be a great opportunity for these guys to get good experience."

Jung (4-1), Khougassian (3-2) and Nicoara (2-3) are set for their third event this fall, after competing at both the Wichita and Navy Invitationals. Strode (2-1) and King (3-0) will compete in their second collegiate event. The tournament will feature both doubles and singles, and the Razorbacks are likely to pair Strode and King, 3-0 at the Navy Invitational a month ago. The Hogs other doubles combo could consist of any combination of Jung, Khougassian and Nicoara.

Play will be held at three different sites in Columbia

Seeds and draws for the 2005 USC Fall Invitational will be announced before Friday’s start.
