FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas soccer team defeated Creighton in a scrimmage last night 3-2. The scrimmage was divided into three 30 minute periods. Arkansas was able to put up three goals in the first period and would go on to hold off the Bluejays for the win. "Preseason matches are obviously important allowing players to showcase in a match like environment and seeing how they respond," head coach Colby Hale said. "I think we got what we needed to. I think there are some things we did well and will take confidence from as well as some areas where we were exposed and will have to get better at to prepare for a good Kansas team." Arkansas has 11 home matches on their 2013 schedule and will play six teams–Utah State, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Auburn and Missouri–that advanced to last year’s NCAA Tournament. Two of those NCAA match-ups will be contested on the Razorbacks’ home field at Razorback Field. The Razorbacks’ season begins on Aug. 23 with a home match against Kansas. Season tickets for the 2013 Arkansas soccer season are now on sale through the Razorback Ticket Center, both online and at the physical location near Baum Stadium.
