NEW YORK, N.Y. — With top 5s in three of five events in the spring, including a team title at the Gator Invitational, the Arkansas men’s golf team moved up to No. 19 in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches poll released on Wednesday. The No. 19 ranking is up two spots from the previous poll that was released, as the Razorbacks will enter next weekend’s SEC Championship as one of eight teams in the top 25. Taking on fields loaded with ranked teams in the spring, Arkansas has shot under-par as a team in six of 15 rounds and a total of 11 times on the year. Out of 10 tournaments on the year, the Razorbacks have finished in the top 10 in all but one while the wins at the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate and the Gator Invitational brought the team’s total to 20 under head coach Brad McMakin. After a strong winter break in which he won the inaugural Saguaro Amateur and finished third at the Patriot Al-America, sophomore Taylor Moore has carried that momentum to the spring where he has been the team low-man in four of five events. Moore has a trio of top 10s in the spring to bring his season total to a team-best five and sports a 71.9 stroke average in the spring. For the fifth straight year and the 14th time overall, the SEC Championship will be played on the Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside Course starting on Friday, April 25.
