FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team hit the courts and collected two doubles and two singles consolation victories on the second day of play at the Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU Invitational on Saturday.
Starting the day off, Razorback pair of senior Parlic and junior Santiago Munoz pushed through a tight match to come away victorious against University of Central Florida’s Chris Barrus and Inaki Espindola 9-8 (8). Then freshman David Herrerias and junior William Albanese teamed up to better Sam Meessen and Evan Karatzas (Nicholls State) 8-2. Later in the day, both Arkansas doubles teams fell in the second round.
In singles consolation play, Munoz defeated Robert Dubuque of Florida Atlantic University 7-6 (4), 6-3. Netting the final victory of the day was Albanese who beat Kyle Childree (Boston College) 6-2, 6-2.
The Razorbacks will be back in action on the final day of the FGCU Invitational Sunday at 8 a.m.
