@RazorbackMTEN Wins Six Matches On Day Two Of Texas Invite

AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Arkansas men’s tennis team collected two doubles wins and three singles wins on the second day of play at the Texas Invitational on Saturday.

After a slight delay due to inclement weather, two Razorback doubles teams came away victorious over the same team from Texas Tech. Sophomores Johan den Toom and Juan Marino battled Evan Nix and Alex Buzelan to a 7-6 win, while juniors Jacob Herndon and William Albanese defeated Nix and Buzelan 6-2.

Albanese also saw success in singles, fighting through three sets with Texas’ No. 48 Adrien Berkowicz to a 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 win. Senior Jovan Parlic was pushed to three sets as well, but came away victorious over Adrian Ortiz-Ruiz (Texas) 6-3, 4-6, 6-7. Facing Texas Tech’s Evan Nix, freshman Branch Terrell netted a 6-1, 6-2 win. In the final Razorback win of the day, freshman David Herrerias defeated Paul Cook of Texas A&M- Corpus Christi 6-3, 6-1.

Arkansas heads back into action on the final day of play at the Texas Invitational on Sunday in Austin, Texas.
