Razorbacks Drop Fourth Straight Match
OXFORD, Miss. – In a preliminary trip to Oxford before the SEC Tournament, Robert Cox and the No. 31 Razorback tennis team were looking to get back on track with a win against No. 5 Ole Miss on Friday. The Hogs found themselves outplayed, losing 6-0.

IN doubles, the Hogs looked to improve, but didn’t as the double struggle continued. The number three match finished first and found Rohan Gajjar and Talley Parker falling to Patrick Chucri and Karim Alayi, 8-5. The number two match found Adrians Zguns and Matt Roberts losing to Paul Ciorascu and Catalin Gard, 8-6. The number one match was suspended, but not before Eduardo Pacheco and Aleksey Bubis had mounted a 6-5 lead over No. 11 Alex Hartman and Claes Lindholm. Losing the two matches put the Hogs down 1-0 and led to the singles matches.

In ingles, the Hogs seemed to be no match for the mighty Rebels as Ole Miss went on a tear winning the five matches that were played out in straight sets. Finishing first was the number two match where No. 29 Paul Ciorascu defeated Eduardo Pacheco, 6-3, 6-2, to give Ole Miss a 2-0 lead. Putting Ole Miss on top 3-0 would be No. 15 Alex Hartman who defeated Aleksey Bubis, 6-1, 6-4. The clinching point came at the number five position where Patrick Chucri defeated Matt Roberts, 6-4, 6-1. At number six, Talley Parker was thwarted by Karim Alayi, 6-4, 6-1. Finally at number four, Rohan Gajjar dropped his match against the Rebels’ Claes Lindholm, 6-3, 6-2. The unfinished match at number three found Adrians Zguns trailing No. 21 Catalin Gard 7-6(5), 3-2, before the match was suspended.

The Hogs will take on Mississippi State on Sunday at the UA Tennis Complex with senior day activities being the highlight of the match. The University of Arkansas will honor seniors Aleksey Bubis and Eduardo Pacheco for their accomplishments over the past four years.
