Razorbacks End First Week of Practice with Scr
BY ANDRES FOCIL
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Thursday’s practice and scrimmage wrapped up one-third of the Razorbacks’ allotted spring practices. Following about an hour of drills, the Hogs brought the action inside the stadium for a short scrimmage.
The time of hitting, throwing and running in live, game-like situations rose the eyebrows of head coach Houston Nutt.
“We had a good first week of practice,” Nutt said. “We got better each day and that is what you want to do, but we still have a long way to go. You’re really pleased with guys like Desmond Sims. Vickiel Vaughn is really coming on, those young guys, Dedrick Poole and Sam Olajubutu, the guys who have been moved around to different positions, Jimarr Gallon and Jeb Huckeba. That experimentation is going really well.
“We’re just trying to put the best eleven on both sides, and we’re trying to get better fundamentally. We’ve got some good work done. Now they’ll finish up school tomorrow and we’ll have a good week of spring break. Then we’ll come back and finish the last ten practices.”
The Razorbacks’ next practice is slated for March 24. The Hogs will then take the 25th off before practicing March 26-29 and 31. Following a short break, the Hogs will pick back up on April 2-4, before their spring game on the 5th of the month.
