Razorbacks Finish Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Cha

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The Arkansas men’s golf team finished Tuesday’s final-round of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships at the Sawgrass Country Club in 14th-place with a three-day total of 908.
The Razorbacks carded their best score of the tournament in the final round with an 8-over par 296. The Hogs opened the event with a 300 on Sunday and followed with a 312 in the second round on Monday.
Southeastern Conference foe Florida won the team title by firing an 8-under par 280 in the final round. The Gators (874) overtook second-round leader Alabama (879) on Tuesday and won by five strokes.
Freshman Scotty Campbell turned in a strong third round with an even-par 72 to finish in a tie for 32nd place overall at 224. Sophomore Matt Bortis finished strong as well, carding a one-over par 73 on Tuesday for a three-round total of 225.
True freshman Eric Shriver, who was coming off of a 15th-place finish at last week’s Taylor Made/Waikoloa Intercollegiate, posted a final-round score of two-over par (74). He finished tied for 41st at 226.
Junior Josh Farrell posted a 77 on Tuesday for a three-day total of 233. Will Osborne carded a 78 in the final round and shot 242 for the tournament.
Arkansas is off until March 18-20 when they travel to Houston, Texas, for the Hall of Fame Invitational.
