Razorbacks Polish Game Plan for Alabama
BY ANDRES FOCIL
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas worked out for one hour on Thursday in helmets and shorts as they capped off a week of practice for their conference opener against Alabama. Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt was pleased with how the Hogs have prepared and today they focused on kicking situations.
“We had a good Thursday practice and it was a good mental day,” Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt said. “We worked on all our kicking situations and all the substitutions. We try to cover every base. They (Alabama) do a great job at kickoff returns and we have to make sure we’re in our lanes. We worked hard on drives on both sides of the field, offense and defense. We had a good day for the most part.”
Nutt also noted that after having time to recover from their injuries tight end Jared Hicks and nose guard Jeremy Harrell will be ready to play on Saturday, but he emphasized that cornerback Chris Houston will have to be a game time decision.
“They’ll (Hicks and Harrell) be going to take the field,” Nutt said. “Chris Houston is still working his way, but he is getting much better. Hopefully he can keep improving the way he has these last 48 hours.”
The Razorbacks will go up against the Crimson Tide in Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 25. CBS is televising the game nationally with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
