Razorbacks Ready For SEC Tournament

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — No. 10 seed Arkansas is set to take on No. 14 seed Missouri at 9 a.m. CT Wednesday in the first round of the 2018 SEC Tournament at at the Dr. Robert L. Barksdale Tennis Stadium.

Last Time Against Missouri
The Razorbacks (7-15, 3-10 SEC) topped the Tigers (11-16, 0-13 SEC) 4-1 on March 2 during the regular season.  Arkansas started fast and finished strong, earning the doubles point with back-to-back wins at the top two spots and securing three of four singles victories.

The Series Against Missouri
Arkansas owns an 8-3 series lead, including a 5-2 mark since Missouri joined the SEC. However, the Tigers have won both previous SEC Tournament meetings, which came in 2014 and 2015.

Regular-Season Finale
A strong performance in singles play helped Arkansas to a 4-2 win at No. 31 Tennessee last Saturday, the Razorbacks’ third straight victory against the Volunteers. Tennessee (17-8, 3-10 Southeastern Conference) won the doubles point, but the Razorbacks stormed out in singles action, earning four victories, including the clincher from sophomore Natsuho Arakawa at No. 4, for the overall match victory.

Singles And Doubles Leaders
Giulia Pairone leads the Razorbacks with an 11-5 singles record this spring. In doubles, Ana Oparenovic and Tatum Rice are a team-best 12-5. Pairone and Mia Jurasic also have been strong in doubles, posting a 12-7 record with a 7-5 mark in SEC action.

In the Rankings
In the national singles rankings, Pairone is No. 50, while Oparenovic is No. 89. In doubles, Oparenovic and Rice are ranked No. 40. Rice is also ranked No. 54 with Jackie Carr.
