Razorbacks Release 2016-17 Schedule

2016-17 Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Arkansas Razorback swimming and diving program has announced the release of the 2016-17 schedule on Wednesday which features four dual meets at home, including two against 2015 top 25 SEC rivals.

“I am confident that our entire schedule will prepare our swimmers and divers for the SEC Championships, the NCAA Zone Diving Championships and the NCAA Championships at the end of our season,” said head coach Neil Harper. “Every meet will be an opportunity and a learning experience for our team and staff.”

Arkansas will face three programs in total that finished in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America Top 25 with the third being the defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs, who the Razorbacks will meet in Athens, Georgia, on Jan. 5, 2017.

Following a pentathlon on Sept. 23 and the red-white inter-squad on Sept. 30, Arkansas will begin their regular season against Drury at the Arkansas Natatorium on Oct. 14. SEC foes Florida and South Carolina will come to Fayetteville on Nov. 3 and Nov. 4, respectively.

The Razorbacks will participate in the Georgia Tech Invite for the third season in a row. Arkansas won the invitational last year after finishing second during the 2014-15 season.

Arkansas will face Illinois for a second year in a row and second time in school history as they travel to Champaign, Illinois, on Jan. 7 after the Illini visited Fayetteville last season.

On Jan. 20-21, Arkansas will travel to Nashville, Tennessee, and to Clemson, South Carolina, to square off in a quad meet between Houston, Vanderbilt and Clemson. The swimming events will take place in Nashville while diving will be held in Clemson. Vanderbilt will not participate in the diving events and Clemson will not participate in the swimming events.

The Razorbacks will return to Fayetteville on Jan. 28 to wrap up the regular season as they face the Kansas Jayhawks for the 31st time in school history. Arkansas has faced Kansas more than any other program in its history.
