Razorbacks Set to Host Alumni Golf Tournament

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Razorback golf team will host the second annual Arkansas Alumni Golf Tournament with the help of John Daly and Hootie and the Blowfish on September 26-27 at Paradise Valley Golf Course in Fayetteville, Ark.
“There was a lot more interest this year in our second annual alumni golf tournament,” Arkansas head coach Mike Ketcham said. “It’s great timing to be the same weekend as the Alabama game, because there will be a lot of people in town. It’s always a good time when alumni get together and it should make for a great weekend.”
The alumni weekend will kickoff with a dinner and silent auction for the golfers and their guests on Thursday, September 26, at 6 p.m., at Paradise Valley’s club house.
Tournament play will begin at noon on Friday, September 27, at Paradise Valley Golf Course. The field will include 30-35 former Arkansas golfers, including PGA Champion John Daly. Each alumni golfer will join a four-man team of local golfers to make a five-man scramble.
A concert following the tournament will begin at 8 p.m., Friday evening at Powerhouse Seafood and Grill on 112 N. University in Fayetteville, Ark. Featured performers will include Johnny Lee and the two-time Grammy award winning group Hootie and the Blowfish. Tickets are available through Dark Star Visuals, located at 106 N. Block St., in downtown Fayetteville, Ark., or by calling (479) 443-2323.
