Razorbacks Split Pair Of Matches

Consolation Draw | Doubles Main Draw

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Qualifying play at the 2015 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships came to a close for Shannon Hudson and Yuliya Lysa of Arkansas women’s tennis Wednesday.

After being eliminated from main draw contention on Tuesday, Hudson and Lysa split a pair of matches in consolation play to close out singles action.

No. 96 Hudson dropped a 7-6 (6), 6-1 decision to California’s No. 64 Karla Popovic while No. 30 Lysa tallied a hard-fought three-set win over DePaul’s No. 119 Yuliya Shupenia, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (4).

Lysa is one of eight players to finish 2-0 in the consolation bracket.

With qualifying play wrapped up, Hudson and Lysa will now focus on doubles action. The eleventh-ranked tandem will take on Duke’s duo of Beatrice Capra and Ellyse Hamlin at noon CT, tomorrow, in the first round of the doubles main draw.
