Razorbacks Top The SEC In Academic Recognition

NEW ORLEANS – Boasting a cumulative team GPA of 3.51 the 19th-ranked Arkansas women’s cross country team was recognized by the USTFCCCA as one of the top academic teams in the country. The Razorbacks were one of 242 programs to earn All-Academic Team distinction for their efforts in the classroom.

The Razorbacks topped the Southeastern Conference in individual acknowledgment as seven student-athletes, including Sydney Brown, Devin Clark, Abby Gray, Valerie Reina, Carina Viljoen, Regan Ward and Taylor Werner collected personal accolades for each posting a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Reina and Werner led group with 4.0 averages, elevating Arkansas further as one of only two teams in the nation to have two representatives on the list with perfect academic records.

In addition to scholastic recognition from the national governing body of cross country and track and field a multitude of Razorbacks were also honored by the SEC named to the recently announced conference honor roll.

An impressive 19 members (full list below) of head coach Lance Harter’s squad notched a GPA of 3.0 or above to earn a place among the SEC’s academic leaders.
