Razorbacks Welcome Alabama On Sunday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas women’s basketball team returns to Southeastern Conference action hosting Alabama on Sunday in Bud Walton Arena.

The Razorbacks (10-5, 1-1 SEC) are coming off a hard-fought loss at No. 5/3 Mississippi State while Alabama (11-4, 1-1 SEC) picked up a road win at Florida on Thursday. Sunday’s game airs on the SEC Network and is scheduled for a 3 p.m. tip.

Scouting Arkansas
The Razorbacks played well early giving No. 5/3 Mississippi State all it wanted in the first half of last Thursday’s league game. Sophomore Jailyn Mason paced Arkansas with 15 points while Kiara Williams and Devin Cosper had 13 points each for Arkansas.

Arkansas has won six in a row against Alabama, but it is Mike Neighbors’ first meeting with the Crimson Tide as a head coach.

Scouting Alabama
The Crimson Tide opened league play with a loss to No. 16 Missouri but picked up a road win at Florida, holding off a late Gator charge. Alabama has two players averaging double figures led by Hannah Cook with 11.1 ppg. Ashley Williams adds 10.7 ppg and is the team’s leading rebounder with 6.6 rpg.

Bama is deep with six players averaging 20+ minutes and five more who are getting double-figure playing time.

Up Next
Arkansas plays its next two games on the road traveling to Georgia on Jan. 11 and to Auburn on Jan. 14. In fact, the Razorbacks face four of it’s next six opponents on the road.
