FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas men’s basketball team conducted its first practice of the 2010-11 season on Friday afternoon at Bud Walton Arena.
Beginning just after 5 p.m. in the team film room, Arkansas’ coaches addressed the team and spoke about hard work and effort before watching video. The team took the floor shortly after and after a brief stretch immediately proved that they had listened to their coaches as they began a two-hour session that included lots of running up and down the floor and just a few breaks.
Impressive in Arkansas’ first practice of the season was the way that the team moved up and down the floor. From guards to forwards, the Razorbacks proved that they could play in transition and put an emphasis on defending. Following drills which emphasized the transition game the Razorbacks moved on to defense before ending the tough session.
The Razorbacks have a difficult weekend ahead of them as they will participate in two-a-day sessions on both Saturday and Sunday before going back to the one-a-day workouts during the week.
