FAYETTEVILLE – The 10th-ranked University of Arkansas football team returned to the UA practice fields on Wednesday as it continued to prepare for its season-opening game against Jacksonville State on Saturday inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
Defensive coordinator and secondary coach Paul Haynes spoke to the media after practice and commented about the senior linebackers.
"They’ve had a good week," Coach Haynes said. "You can see that they communicate very well together. They’re always talking, and that’s what you want out of that linebacker spot, that they’re on the same page. I’ve been pleased with them. They got good reps in camp and it’s carrying over."
Coach Haynes also talked about what the defense is looking to accomplish in Saturday’s game.
"We’re looking for execution," Coach Haynes explained. "We want to make sure that we’re disciplined, that we tackle in space. Those are the things that we’re making sure we’re sound on. I’m excited to get the first game under the belt and see where we are and how we adjust and move forward."
Kickoff for Saturday’s game is set for 6 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on PPV. Fans should contact their cable and satellite providers for ordering information.
