Razorbacks finish first day at Gopher Invitational

WAYZATA, Minn.- After a tough first round at the Gopher Invitational on Friday, the University of Arkansas men’s golf team focuses on the upcoming rounds. The Razorbacks posted 305, a 17-over par finish, landing them in ninth place after day one of the tournament.

“It was a sluggish day, and we couldn’t get our momentum up,” Head Coach Brad McMakin said of his team’s performance.

Senior Andrew Landry was leading through hole 12 but faltered with a couple double bogies, dropping his lead to a 75-3 over finish. David Lingmerth turned in the top score for the team with a 74 (+2), Samuel Chavez followed closely with 4-over, Allen McFerren ended with 8- over, while Ethan Tracy ended with 9-over.

Tournament play resumes Saturday at 8:00, with Arkansas two ahead of Yale and only trailing its fifth place host University of Minnesota by seven.
