Razorbacks have big home schedule in 2011
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas’ men’s tennis schedule has been finalized for the spring semester and the Razorbacks are playing 14 of 22 dual matches at home in Fayetteville.
Head coach Robert Cox’s team has home non-conference matches against UNLV, SMU, Iowa, Santa Clara, Oklahoma, Tulsa, Wichita State, Southern Illinois and Saint Louis. The Razorbacks have home Southeastern Conference matches against Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Georgia, Alabama and Auburn.
"We have a very competitive and exciting schedule on the road and at home against some great nationally top-ranked schools," Cox says. "We are playing some non-conference teams that we’ve never faced before like Santa Clara and Iowa, and then we always have the super-competitive SEC. I’m really excited about men’s tennis this season."
Arkansas opens the season Jan. 21-23 at the Auburn Quad, followed by consecutive home matches against UNLV, SMU, Iowa, Santa Clara, Oklahoma and Tulsa.
Following a trip to Las Vegas Feb. 26-27 for matches against Fresno State and UNLV, Arkansas opens SEC play on the road at South Carolina on March 4, and Florida on March 6.
The Razorbacks return to Fayetteville for home dates against Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Wichita State. After a trip to Tennessee, Arkansas hosts Oral Roberts, Saint Louis, Georgia, Alabama and Auburn.
Arkansas ends the year on the road at Kentucky, Vanderbilt and LSU. The SEC Championship is at Florida April 21-24.
