FAYETTEVILLE – The Arkansas men’s cross country team held steady at the No. 6 spot in the USTFCCCA national rankings released on Tuesday, after taking the team title at the 25th Annual Chile Pepper Festival over the weekend. The Razorbacks scored 31 points for the meet, 13 points ahead of the second place finisher, No. 27 Villanova. Arkansas finished first of 15 teams in a meet that featured 119 competitors. Apitionally, in recognition of their performances at the 25th Annual Chile Pepper Festival, senior Kemoy Campbell was named the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Runner of the Week and Aidan Swain was named the SEC Freshman of the Week. Arkansas has been ranked as high as No. 5 in the USTFCCCA poll this season. In the regional rankings, Arkansas has been featured as the premiere team in the South Central Regional all season long. The Razorbacks now prepare for the Wisconsin adidas Invitational which will be held on Oct. 19, at the Zimmer Championship Course in Madison, Wisc. The meet will feature 20 of the top 30 teams featured in today’s USTFCCCA national rankings, including five of the top 10. The men’s 8K is slated for an 11 a.m. start.
