Razorbacks Inside for Wednesday Practice

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Due to inclement weather in the Fayetteville area, Razorback football’s Wednesday practice was forced inside to the Willard and Pat Walker Pavilion just south of the Razorback practice fields. The squad practiced in full pads for slightly more than 90 minutes.

“We had a pretty good practice today,” Nutt said. “We always feel like we have better practices when we come inside for whatever reason. The guys played fast today. We had some good third-down work against each other, trying to get the speed of the game.”

With the Troy game over, the Razorbacks have shifted their focus to Alabama and the SEC schedule that lies ahead of them.

“We are really putting an emphasis on Alabama,” Nutt said. “We are going into a whole different level. Our older guys probably understand that a little bit better than our younger guys. It has been about Alabama since day one.”

In addition to the extended focus on Alabama during the off week, Nutt is also using this time to get some of his younger players some extra attention at practice.

“It’s good to get the younger guys on some film,” Nutt said. “They scrimmaged yesterday and we gave them some good attention. Overall, it was a very good day today.”

Only a few missed practice today with injuries and ailments that will hopefully be fixed shortly.

“Matterral (Richardson) was out again today after having wisdom teeth out yesterday,” Nutt said. “Kevin Woods was kept out as a precautionary measure. He probably could have gone today. He has a slightly strained hamstring. He’ll be okay; he’ll be back.”

Nutt will be giving his team Friday and Saturday off and then will gather everyone back on Sunday to start game-week preparations for Alabama.

“We are getting right back into it on Sunday,” Nutt said. “It’s 11-straight weeks after that. This is football season now; eat, sleep, academics, football. That’s what takes up our time now.”

The Razorbacks will be back on the practice field Thursday afternoon. Log on to www.hogwired.com for continued coverage of Arkansas football.
