Razorbacks meet Avery

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Members of the University of Arkansas men’s basketball team took time to visit with Avery, a nine-year-old with Asperger syndrome, at Bud Walton Arena on Wednesday.Avery, who visited with his mother and sister, told the Razorbacks about Autism and Asperger syndrome, and gave Coach Anderson a bottle filled with M&Ms to help spread awareness of the disorder which affects 1 in 88 children. Avery and his sister then got autographs from the Razorbacks and shot baskets on the court.Avery’s Project includes tying fact sheets to bottles filled with M&M candies which also include a blue puzzle piece.
