FAYETTEVILLE — The 7th-ranked University of Arkansas football team practiced Thursday afternoon inside Walker Pavilion in preparation for its game against 11th-ranked Kansas State in the 76th AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.
Senior defensive end Jake Bequette, a recent first-team All-SEC selection by the coaches and a second-team Capital One Academic All-American, commented that even for the seniors preparing for their final game as Razorbacks the team remains focused on the task at hand.
"We’ve got to keep our goal in mind and that is to beat Kansas State in the Cotton Bowl," Bequette said. "I think we’ve got a good chance to go and perform well. It’s going to be fun to really practice hard and get ready for my last game."
Senior safety Tramain Thomas expressed excitement to get back out on the practice field after the time off since the last game.
"It definitely felt good to get back out there with the team," Thomas said. "Everybody got their legs back, so we were all out there practicing hard and getting better. We’re all looking forward to the challenge of going out there and playing Kansas State, and we’re going to be ready."
The 76th AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Jan. 6 inside Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas and will be televised nationally on Fox.
