FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas is preparing for the end of the spring semester and the graduation of dozens of Razorback student-athletes this weekend.

"We are extremely proud that 37 Razorback student-athletes will participate in graduation ceremonies this weekend," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. "Helping our student-athletes earn a college degree is at the very core of our mission. Congratulations to all of those who have achieved this important milestone in their lives. We wish them the very best as they continue their athletic and professional careers."

Men’s basketball players Jemal Farmer, Delvon Johnson, Michael Sanchez and Jeff Peterson are all planning to attend their graduation ceremonies. Four women’s basketball players will also walk. They include Brittney Richardson, Skye Rees, Caroline Powell and Ashlea Williams.

Eight Razorback football players from this season’s first-ever BCS bowl appearance are walking through ceremonies. They include Dustin Cain, Rudell Crim, Ray Dominguez, DeMarcus Love, Jermaine Love, Ryan Powers, Van Stumon, and D.J. Williams.

Women’s tennis All-American Anouk Tigu will walk and then lead her team into the NCAA Tournament this weekend. Razorback gymnastics coach René Cook and former men’s hoopster Jonathon Modica both earned their doctorate degrees this year and will also participate in the weekend’s celebrations.

Three Razorback golfers are taking part in their graduations before leading their respective teams into the postseason. Jamie Marshall graduates as the No. 17 Razorback men’s golf team prepares for an NCAA Regional appearance in Florida next week. Seniors Corinna Rees and Kelli Shean depart Sunday with the No. 11 Razorback women’s golf team for the 2011 NCAA Championship in Bryan, Texas.

The Razorback soccer, softball, men’s track and field and women’s track and field teams all have three members who will walk through ceremonies. Two gymnasts, two volleyball players and one member of the swimming and diving team will participate this weekend.
