FAYETTEVILLE — After extending the program’s record start to 6-0 with a shutout victory over Tulsa and a thrilling double-overtime victory over Nebraska, the Razorbacks have moved into the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and TopDrawerSoccer.com Top-25 rankings at the No. 25 spot in both polls, respectively. It marks the first time in the program’s 28-year history that it has garnered a national ranking. The Razorbacks are one of 15 teams who remain unscathed on the season with zero losses or ties (teams that have played more than three games). Arkansas is also one of just nine teams left in the nation with a 6-0-0 record. "The team has put in a pretty remarkable amount of work,” head coach Colby Hale said. “I am happy for them that their work has been noticed. They’re creating history and its building their confidence. Their confidence has been earned. They have been tested against some really good teams. We know we have a lot of things we need to work on and that is our focus right now. Maybe at the end of the year we will have a chance to celebrate some of the things we accomplish this season, but right now our efforts and energies are on Utah State and based on what we know, they are very talented and we know they will be another huge test." Arkansas’ hot start has also earned it the No. 3 spot in the most recent NSCAA South Region rankings. The Razorbacks are one of three unbeaten teams in the SEC, but lead all 14 programs with six wins. In the national rankings, Arkansas is one of four SEC teams to be featured in the TopDrawerSoccer.com rankings. Florida is the top-ranked SEC team at No. 10 followed by Texas A&M at No. 19 and South Carolina at No. 22. In the NSCAA rankings, Florida is ranked No. 9, South Carolina is No. 18 and Texas A&M is No. 20. The Razorbacks return to the pitch this weekend for their final non-conference matchups at Utah State and TCU. Arkansas will play at Utah State on Friday, Sept. 13, at 5 p.m. (CT), and at TCU on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. (CT). For more information on Arkansas soccer, follow @RazorbackSoccer on Twitter.
