FAYETTEVILLE – The 6th-ranked University of Arkansas football team practiced inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium Thursday afternoon as it continued to prepare for its final home game of 2011with Mississippi State on Saturday.
Head coach Bobby Petrino met with the media after practice and talked about how excited his team is to be playing at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Ark., on Saturday.
"We’re excited," Coach Petrino said. "I think we’ve prepared well. Our guys had a lot of energy. There’s been good focus at practice and we’ve got a group of seniors that are playing their last game down there. They’ve never lost down there, so we need to make sure that they don’t. It should be a good battle this weekend."
Coach Petrino also talked about the atmosphere that the crowd in Little Rock provides and how it gives his team an advantage in games.
"It all starts when you get on the bus and head towards the stadium," Coach Petrino said. "You see all the people and the way they gather. You see the way they’re on the golf course and the long Hog Walk that we have. There is certainly a lot of excitement and a lot of energy and it really helps you get ready to play in the game."
Kickoff for Saturday’s game is set for 2:30 p.m. and will be televised on CBS.
