Razorbacks Rise in FILA Intercollegiate Tennis Rankings
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas jumped 13 spots to No. 45 in this week’s FILA/ITA Collegiate Tennis rankings, released Tuesday.
The previous rankings were released on January 10, and since then the Razorbacks have gotten off to a 5-0 start, including winning the ITA Central Region Indoor Team Championship. The Hogs boast victories over then-No. 42 Oklahoma and then-No. 46 Tulsa.
The next rankings will be released Feb. 7, and will include the newest national individual rankings. UA currently sports three players with national ranking: freshman Blake Strode (19), senior Matt Roberts (24) and senior Rohan Gajjar (100).
The 45th-ranked Razorbacks will return to the courts this weekend for two non-conference home matches. The Hogs will host Missouri State Friday night, before welcoming former Southwest Conference rival and 20th-ranked Texas on Sunday.
The match with MSU is set for 6 p.m. Friday, while the Hogs and ‘Horns will hook up at 1 p.m. Sunday. Both matches will be held at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center in Fayetteville.
