Razorbacks send two to Florida Gulf Coast Invite

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.
The Razorback women’s tennis team kicks off its 2010 spring season at the Florida Gulf Coast Invite this weekend in Ft. Myers, Fla.
The Razorbacks, who open the year ranked 19th in the nation by ITA, are set to open play on Saturday and will continue into Monday.
“We’re real excited to be back in training after the Christmas holidays,” head coach Michael Hegarty said. “The meet this weekend is really for a couple of our players who are underplayed and need a few matches under their belt before our dual matches next weekend.”
The team will be sending sophomores Fernanda Perrotta and Stephanie Roy to the invite and each will be playing in their first official matches as Razorbacks.
“This is a pretty low-key and individual tournament,” Hegarty said. “It’s played outdoors which is much different from what we’re experiencing this time of year here, but we just want to get these players experience before we get into the team matches.”
