BRYAN, Texas – The 11th-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team had a good front nine and make the turn as the second team in their group of 12 Friday in third round action at the 2011 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship in Bryan, Texas.
Arkansas made the turn plus-one as a group and in second among the 12 first-flight teams. The morning 12 teams have just teed off. Freshman Emily Tubert turned two under with birdies on holes four and nine. Tubert drained a 25-foot birdie putt to the back right pin location on nine as the crowd cheered her on.
Senior Kelli Shean was even through nine with a birdie on three and a bogey on five. She birdied the 10th hole as she turned.
Senior Corinna Rees turned at plus-one and freshman Emma Lavy was plus-two at the halfway mark.
Sophomore Victoria Vela turned at plus-four for Arkansas. Play continues with nine more holes and a final round on Saturday.
