Razorbacks visit The Maples

FAYETTEVILLE – Members of the Arkansas men’s basketball team visited patients at The Maples at Har-Ber Meadows in Springdale on Tuesday afternoon.

Six players and the entire coaching and support staff spent nearly an hour at the health care community signing autographs and visiting patients in a large community room as well as in individual rooms. Sophomore SEC Community Service Award honoree Rotnei Clarke was joined by freshman All-American Marshawn Powell, juniors Jemal Farmer, Delvon Johnson and Jeff Peterson and freshman Glenn Bryant at the facility.

"It is always important for us to give back to the community," Arkansas head coach John Pelphrey said. "We are very proud to be Razorbacks and to bring joy and happiness to a large group of people just by showing up is the least we can do. The fans in Arkansas are passionate about their Razorbacks and we honored to play for them."

The Razorbacks are finishing the spring semester in the classroom while also going through individual workouts and weight training in preparation for the 2010-11 season.
