FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas swimming and diving will open its 2014-15 season at Southeastern Conference foe Florida on Sept. 27, at 2:30 p.m. The match-up will be streamed live via SEC Network +.
“We’re going to go into Florida and will take on a very good team,” said head coach Sean Schimmel. “What I expect to see is our women to stay focused and positive on what they’re doing, and control what they can control.”
The last time the Razorbacks and the Gators went head-to-head was in 2011, where Arkansas fell, 125-173.
For the 2014-15 slate, Arkansas welcomes 13 newcomers after losing seven seniors last season. While the Razorbacks lost key swimmers and a diver, six of the seven women that qualified for the NCAA Championships return to the team this season.
“We have some certain internal goals and skills that we’re working on as a team,” said Schimmel. “I think it starts with us taking care of our own business. Of course it’s getting our hand on the wall more than the opposing team, or out-diving the other opponents as well. But it is important to control what we can control – being aggressive and focused.”
To stay up to date with the Razorbacks, meet results will be updated periodically here.
Following Arkansas’ match-up versus Florida, the Razorbacks will head home for a two-meet homestand, starting with Texas A&M on Oct. 18, at 11 a.m., in the Arkansas Natatorium.
