FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – In a matchup of two of the top-three records in the SEC standings, the University of Arkansas volleyball team will play host to No. 16 Kentucky Friday evening at Barnhill Arena. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. (CT). The Razorbacks enter the weekend with a 5-2 mark in SEC play, just one loss behind UK and with the opportunity to move toward the No. 2 spot in the conference standings.

The Razorbacks are looking to remain undefeated on its home floor in conference play. Single-match tickets are $5 at the door while UA students and fans 17 years and younger receive free admission into Barnhill Arena for all volleyball matches. UA students are asked to use the street-level entrance on Stadium Drive to enter the arena. Knit hats and food vouchers will be located at that entrance. Doors at Barnhill Arena open at 6 p.m.
In Monday’s release of the NCAA statistical rankings, senior Meredith Hays is 13th among the nation’s attackers with 4.66 kills per set and 17th in the country with 5.16 points per set. She leads the SEC in both categories. Defensively, Arkansas combines to rank 59th in the NCAA with 2.42 blocks per set. The Razorbacks have held 12 opponents under a .200 hitting percentage this year.
Kentucky (17-3, 7-1 SEC) represents the third-consecutive ranked opponent for Arkansas and the fourth in a string of seven-straight opponents that played in last year’s NCAA Tournament. Friday’s match is the 34th meeting between the two programs and the 18th all-time meeting in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks hold a 9-8 advantage in matches played on their home floor. Arkansas has won two of the last three matches against the Wildcats.
